iPageFounded in 1998, iPage is an experienced web host providing one of the cheapest packages to personal and small businesses. The hosting plan is only $1.99/mo for 2/3-year subscription and $3.50/mo for the 1-year term. This plan should be a good option for personal website owners who just have a less-traffic web presence.

The industry reputation is not as good as some well-known web hosts such as BlueHost according to the not outstanding hosting speed and uptime. However, right now, iPage is serving for over a million of customer over the Internet. This huge number of customer base also shows the favorites and choices of personal webmasters.

WebHostingPadWebHostingPad claims to provide cheap web hosting solutions, too, but we don't think its plans are really cost-effective. The Power Plan starts from $1.99/mo. However, this low price is valid for very long terms – 4/5 years only. Considering that the company has a short money back period of 30 days, the service quality in such long terms cannot be guaranteed.

Actually, we would never recommend this web host to our readers. The first reason is the money back guarantee mentioned above. WebHostingPad promises to give a full refund in the first 30 days, but the company deducts fees for the called free domain, cPanel license, Softaculous, IP addresses, site builder, etc. The customers lose a lot of the money in the return.

Another reason is the joking guaranteed uptime and speed. Many of WebHostingPad customers complain that their websites often encounter with slowness or even downtimes. What's even worse is that customers cannot get effective support from WebHostingPad when they are in trouble. As we experienced by ourselves, the support team is not responsive or responsible.

iPage VS WebHostingPad > Feature

There are many common features of the 2 web hosts, such as unlimited disk space, bandwidth, parked domains, email accounts, and the support to PHP and Perl. In the following table, we have listed some other features except for those mentioned above. iPage VS WebHostingPad > Performance

Both of the 2 companies operate their own data centers equipped with high performance servers and secure network infrastructure. However, they deliver different levels of web hosting speed. As we monitored, the servers of WebHostingPad are extremely slow. According to the non-authoritative research that WebHostingPad is trying to sell a physic server to over 5,000 users. The server response of iPage, according our testing result, is approximately 50% faster than that of WebHostingPad. Read the statistics monitored in the past 30 days.

iPage VS WebHostingPad > Conclusion

iPage and WebHostingPad are both providing cheap web hosting plans, but we would only recommend iPage when take the features, reliability, performance and technical support into consideration. Don't go with WebHostingPad. You just buy bricks and troubles there.
