ServerPronto Technical Support Review 1.50 of 5

ServerPronto boasts that they have 24x7 professional technical support and customer service. But unfortunately, most of the complaints toward the company are about the support service: technical support is not responsive at all, and the representatives are not always helpful.

We have tried the live chat for three times, but for two times we got a reply that asked us to wait for an email response, which is not understandable. For the phone support, the work time is 7AM – 5PM EST from Monday to Friday.

ServerPronto Dedicated Server Plans 2.50 of 5

ServerPronto offers 8 dedicated server hosting plans in most times. But now, there is another promotional offer – a dedicated server at $29/mo only. This on-sale plan is the cheapest one, coming with 2-core CPU, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB disk storage, and 5 TB traffic.

The $29/mo dedicated server is cheap indeed, but the amount of CPU cores and RAM equals to a standard VPS only. Another disadvantage is that the CPU and RAM cannot be upgraded.

The price range of the other 8 non-promotional plans is from $39.95/mo to $599.95/mo. The features included in the plans are as the following screenshot. Note that Bare Metal Value comes with 1 free dedicated IP while all other plans include 2.

Dedicated Server Features

When you configure a server, you may need to purchase additional services with extra fees:
  • cPanel/WHM: $35/mo.
  • A secondary hard drive with 500 GB storage: $15/mo.
  • 5 TB bandwidth: $75/mo.
  • 25 GB managed backups: $10/mo.
  • Uptime monitoring: $10/mo.
  • Fully managed support: $100/mo.
If you want a Windows server, the fees you have to pay are even more: $35/mo for Windows 8 R2 Standard, and $250/mo for MSSQL 2008/2012 Standard.

ServerPronto Cloud Plans 3.00 of 5

ServerPronto offers one public cloud plan and 2 private cloud plans, the former for individuals and businesses, and the latter option for enterprises and large companies.

The public cloud allows users to scale the resources at any time with the Cloud Control Panel. At the price of $29.95/mo, you can enjoy 2 CPU cores, 3 GB RAM and 50 GB HDD storage. The prices for additional resources are: $17.95/mo for 1 CPU core, $10/mo for 1 GB RAM, and $0.1/mo for 1 GB HDD storage.

The private cloud is an advanced solution with 2 plans included – a basic plan at $899/mo and an enterprise plan at $1299/mo. Both plans cover a Control Panel Server and a Backup Server. Users of the basic plan have access to 16 CPU cores, 64 GB RAM and 2000 GB storage, while the enterprise plan offers 32 CPU cores, 256 GB RAM and 4000 GB storage.

ServerPronto Advantages 3.50 of 5

Whether using the dedicated servers or the cloud, you can enjoy some advantages offered by ServerPronto.
  • Risk-free non-contractual monthly billing. Although ServerPronto allows multiple billing cycles including 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months, it does not attract customers by lowering the prices of the long terms. Therefore, you can feel free to pay month by month.
  • Free setup assistance. When setting up the server, you can get to a ServerPronto technician who will guide you through the setup process and offer suggestions.
  • Several uplink ports to choose. ServerPronto provides 3 choices for uplink ports: 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps, which can meet all levels of demands.

ServerPronto Complaints 1.00 of 5

Over the years, ServerPronto has received many complaints, mainly focusing on the technical support and the following aspects.
  • Slow provisioning
The company guarantees 1-hour provisioning on average, but most users say that the actual provisioning time is several times longer than the promise. Usually, it takes more than 4 hours to provision a server. And in some bad cases, the waiting time can be 2 days or more.
  • Unable to meet the 100% uptime guarantee
ServerPronto offers a 100% uptime guarantee for dedicated server users, but it does not always keep the promise. We have been monitoring ServerPronto for more than 1 year, and the results we get show us that the uptime of the company's services averages a little bit more than 99.9% only.

ServerPronto Uptime
  • Short money-back period
ServerPronto refund is valid for 7 days, which is too short. Most other dedicated hosting providers like InMotion Hosting allow users to ask for a refund within the first 30 days of service delivery.
  • Unreasonable TOS about cancellation & refund
In the TOS, ServerPronto defines many restrictions for account cancellation and refund. For instance, the 7-day refund guarantee applies to one order only per user. Also, cancellation requests must be submitted to the company 30 days prior to the expiration of the term. If not, the account will still be renewed automatically even if you have requested a cancellation.
