Pair Networks was born in 1996 in Pittsburgh. Since its inception, the company has been committed to providing customer-friendly web hosting services. And their web hosting products cover shared web hosting, pairCloud, e-commerce, pairNIC and so on. They have hosted hundreds of thousands of websites and served customers all over the world.

In terms of shared web hosting, the company provides four plans: Package 1, Package 2, Package 3 and Package 4. And the company rates them at $5.95/mo, $9.95/mo, $17.95/mo and $29.95/mo respectively. The company used to charge for setup fees at $25, but such fees are waived now. If you purchase their products for several months or years, you would enjoy a discount which varies from 2% to 16%. If we compare it to other web hosting providers, Pair Networks indeed charges a little bit higher, especially for the alternatives as following.
Editorial Review

Pair Networks Speed Review 3.50 of 5

As for speed, the company uses multiple tier 1 network providers such as Verizon, Global Crossing and Level (3). Also, the company provides users multiple 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections which make your data transfer being conducted at fast speed. Besides, the company uses top-class servers which are under constant upgrading so as to ensure you secure and fast experience.

What needs highlight is their data center. Pair Networks has their own custom-built data center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In order to provide fast and secure service for their users, the company has their data center under good protection such as redundant climate control, continual green power and fire suppression systems. For any accident with the data center, the company also owns a secondary data center in Denver.

Pair Networks Reliability Review 3.00 of 5

In web hosting industry, most companies would prefer to give uptime guarantee which is also at customers' favor. However, Pair Networks doesn't give any uptime promise, which would obviously cause some disputes between Pair Networks and their users if any downtime happens.

You can only find an introduction from Pair Networks about their average uptime of 99.9%. According to our survey, since Sept 2006, the company had 6 large outages that pissed off many users. Therefore, they could hardly reach 99.9% uptime as they put. Still, there are complaints from their real users reporting their websites' downtimes.

Pair Networks Feature Review 2.00 of 5

As for features, we take Package 1 plan as an example. The company charges $5.95/mo for this solution while we don't find any advantages of this plan.

They support email, 15 MySQL databases, dedicated IP address and SSL. Besides, you can also enjoy 500 mailboxes, 10 FTP logins and backups. But they don't provide free domain, so you need to pay for this service.

In addition to that, the company provides only 15GB disk space and 75GB monthly data transfer, which are definitely low-equipped comparing to their peers. With such dick space and bandwidth, you would realize soon that it would apparently impede your sites development and visits.

Generally speaking, Pair Networks has a low performance against cost. They really have to improve their solutions so as to match the high price.

Pair Networks Technical Support Review 2.50 of 5

The company supports 24x7 US-based customer service. You can get in touch with them via phone, email and fax. There is also a knowledgebase for FAQs and other information.

But Pair Networks doesn't provide live chat, which would cause some inconvenience for some customers. Sometimes, people just need to ask some simple questions, and there is really no need to pick up a phone or write an email and wait for hours (even days).

Also, there are some users reporting that the support staffs are not all knowledgeable. Thus, Pair Networks might as well to improve their service for their better development.
